Literature Text

The day was almost over, nothing especially exciting happened. The stars shone more than usual for New York City. You had been leaning against the balcony at the top floor of Stark Tower, your thoughts drifting back to the one person you  couldn't get out of your head... or god.

Speak of the devil.

You saw the silhouette of a large blonde approaching you through you peripheral vision.

"Brother Anthony told me today is, what you Midgardians call, Valentine's day." Thor spoke in an earnest tone.

"Yes. I am aware of that." You joked in an attempt to break the sudden tension. But he remained sober, making your grin fade.

"We are supposed to spend this day next to our significant other."

"As far as I know... If you have a significant other, that is." You shrugged, not sure where Thor wanted to get with that subject.

"I see." The god nodded contemplatively gazing at the skies. You scowled at his sad demeanor, wondering if he was still thinking about her. The Midgardian that had stolen his heart.

"You're thinking about Jane, aren't you?" You asked weakly, looking down at your feet.

You missed the deep frown that assorted his face as his eyes wandered to you once more.

"What brought you to this conclusion, lady Y/N?" Thor questioned.

"Well, isn't she your significant other? The one you should be with?" You asked bitterly, hoping no venom dripped into your words, you didn't want to sound rude.

"You know very well we are not together anymore. Jane is a wonderful human and will always hold a place in my heart, yet our relationship was faded to end sooner or later."

"You still love her, though." You tried to tease, but it sounded as a statement.

"Not in the way you insinuate."

"Oh."

"Now, tell me about you. Where is your lover?"

You blushed madly at the question and giggled quietly. "I'm not sure I have one."

"Then we must fix this immediately, my lady!"

"And how do you suggest we make that, Thor?" You questioned amusedly.

"Is there any fellow of your interest in this tower?"

You finally looked up, your gaze meeting his impossible blue one and you melted inside. You considered confessing your feelings for the god, but, afraid of rejection, decided upon revealing only part of the truth. " I do have my eyes set in one particular guy." You shrugged nonchalantly. His face fell for a small second, but not for long enough for you to notice. "It doesn't matter, though."

"Why?"

"I don't think he is interested."

"I doubt that." Thor chuckled. You lifted an eyebrow in question. "You are not only beautiful, but also a very kind and captivating woman. I see no reason for anyone not to fall for such a caring soul."

You were taken aback by his words and, before you could have stopped yourself, you let out a single challenging inquest.

"Including you?"

You eyes widened at your own nerve and you quickly covered your mouth.

"Yes. I'm exposed to your  charm as well, lady Y/N. How could I not?"

"Thor?"

"Yes?"

"Would you be my valentine?"

He gaped at you and you immediately took his lack of response for a negative.

"I'm so sorry. I thought maybe... I'm sorry." You pulled yourself away from the railing and started making your away into the building without casting a single look to the god. "I'll see you tomorrow, Thor."

Only one step before you reached the next room, you felt his hand around your wrist. "You don't need to ex-"

His lips touched yours softly, his beard pleasantly tickling your skin.

"Y/N?"

"Hmm?" You hummed in knowledge, your eyes still closed.

"I would love to be your valentine." And he was kissing you again.

Would you look at that! I actually did something on time!

All thanks to the incredible :iconmaidenofasgard:, who requested some Thor or Loki for Valentine's.
